Welcome to Clinton Public School – home of the Cougars!
Clinton Public School is a beautiful, freshly renovated school serving 210 students from Early Years full-day learning to grade eight, including a Section 23 day treatment class. Our staff of 27 committed educators works hard to ensure all students, parents and community members feel welcomed and respected in our building. Learning is a responsibility shared by the school, students, home and community. We invite you to get involved in Clinton Public School as a volunteer or perhaps a school council member. Being involved in your child’s school is one of the best things you can do for their education.
In terms of professional learning, our school team will be focusing on Number Sense and Understanding of Operations in mathematics. On the social side, we will continue to participate in The Attributes of Good Character Program, because we believe that positive character development is integral to being a well-rounded learner and citizen. We will also be working hard to ensure that every member of our diverse student population feels valued for who they are and realizes their uniqueness is a rich asset to our school and community.
CPS is an integral member of the Central Huron community. Our facility is open to community partners, service groups, and sports organizations so that they can offer a variety of events and activities to all age groups in the Clinton area. The Clinton Cooperative Daycare is one of those partners, hosting their Before & After school Kids Club at CPS. In addition we are fortunate to have Ontario Early Years running free programs for children ages birth to six years four mornings per week.
In the coming year, The Avon Maitland District School Board and the County of Huron are literally “building” on these care for kids partnerships by working together to build a Daycare and Early Years Centre as part of the Clinton Public School site.
